Review: A great personal alarm spoiled by a rip-off SIM card deal. - I bought this for my mum and needed it in a hurry. I did a lot of research and decided this would be perfect as it was separate from the house phone so wouldn’t cause any problems with multi room phones. The extras with the pack were well worth getting. I’m very impressed with the unit and it certainly works well. I thought the SIM sounded perfect and presumed I would just be able to top it up as needed. I was wrong. Unfortunately SureSafe have changed their SIM deal from pay as you go to one more suited to their SureSafeGo model which can track people wearing the device. The only way to use their SIM card now is to pay for their credit bundle per month which includes 15 minutes of talk time, 45 texts and 3MB of data per month. The cheapest price is £45 per year! Which is absolutely ridiculous for something that will hopefully only have occasional use of call or text. And what on earth does the unit need 3MB of data for that it can’t even use? I rang the helpline and was told that was the only way to use their SIM card. What a ripoff! To say that I was annoyed is an understatement. If I didn’t urgently need it I would have sent it back. As it was I got a pay as you go call and text SIM from the supermarket and use that instead. So be warned that the wonderful SIM that they advertise can only be used for the rip-off price of £45 a year. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00WC23BZK | | ASIN | B00WC23BZK | | Brand | SureSafe Alarms | | Colour | White | | Compatible Devices | Smartphone | | Control Method | Touch | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (7) | | Customer reviews | 4.4 4.4 out of 5 stars (7) | | Is discontinued by manufacturer | No | | Manufacturer | SureSafe | | Manufacturer | SureSafe | | Manufacturer reference | SS-iSOS-02 | | Product Dimensions | 12 x 9 x 2.5 cm | | UPC | 685450487269 | ## Product Details - **Brand:** SureSafe Alarms - **Colour:** White - **Compatible devices:** Smartphone - **Control method:** Touch - **UPC:** 685450487269 ## Images ![SureSafe Alarms iSOS Elderly Personal Alarm (with 2 Pendants/Wristwatches) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51F0OnsMaEL.jpg) ![SureSafe Alarms iSOS Elderly Personal Alarm (with 2 Pendants/Wristwatches) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/813evweIDUL.jpg) ![SureSafe Alarms iSOS Elderly Personal Alarm (with 2 Pendants/Wristwatches) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71y+AJDdbpL.jpg) ![SureSafe Alarms iSOS Elderly Personal Alarm (with 2 Pendants/Wristwatches) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/318LCiyiJIL.jpg) ![SureSafe Alarms iSOS Elderly Personal Alarm (with 2 Pendants/Wristwatches) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91YmdJugQGL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Hi, i ordered this today. i trust it has been shipping with the "special offer: 2 x free emergency wall alarm buttons"?** A: Hi Mr. Hills. Kind regards, The SureSafe Alarms Team. **Q: Can i have link for the optional speaker** A: Hi. If you copy and paste this into the Amazon search bar you will find the optional speaker: B00XRJ8SSWHope this helps. The SureSafe Alarms Team **Q: Could I use this in Spain with a Spanish sim card like orange es or vodafone es?** A: Hi. Yes this can be used in Spain with a Spanish SIM. You would need a European power adaptor for the plug but it would work well. I hope this helps. **Q: Has anything changed regards the sim card in terms of is it still £45 per year or is it payg now? or am i better of getting my own sim card from my eh** A: This device only works with the supplier’s SIM, you cannot put your own SIM in. You pay for a period, whether you use the allotted messages and call time or not. These do not carry forward. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to set up *by M***. on 22 May 2018* Easy to set up and we know it works as my sister pressed the button by mistake at 0200!!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐ A great personal alarm spoiled by a rip-off SIM card deal. *by B***S on 10 July 2018* I bought this for my mum and needed it in a hurry.
