Here, the NIV text is presented in single column paragraph style with the cross-references in the outer margin, giving a very well laid out appearance to the page. It is typeset using a modern digital font which has many of the characteristics usually associated with traditional Bible typefaces - in particular, a degree of readability more usually associated with much larger type. The type size is just below 9 point but with generous line spacing to further enhance readability. The Bible has 15 colour maps and a concordance, and two ribbons to keep the reader's place. This is a Bible of the highest quality, printed on India paper with art-gilt edges, fully sewn for flexibility and endurance, and bound in black goatskin leather, edge-lined for extra suppleness. Review: My new favourite bible - I love this bible very much. Previously I had a Pitt Minion (which I still have), the text was too small for my aging eyes, so decided to go for something new. Read a lot of reviews and came to the conclusion that this was the one for me. Is a good bit thicker than the Pitt Minion, and with that is actually quite heavy. That would be my only gripe. The leather is so nice and soft, the font size is much better for me. You will have to turn pages much more frequently with the single column, but I now really like this reading format. Not cheap at all, but is by far my favourite bible. I purchased the NIV, no red letter, have not found the concordance to be of much use, new maps (from Pitt Minion) and they are great, footnotes are helpful. The gorgeous smell of the leather is rich and wholesome, giving a quality feel to this bible. The goatskin is very soft with a well presented even grain. The paper is also a premium product with the printing on one side shadowing the printing on the reverse side, to make reading even easier. There are 2 red place marker ribbons and a lovely rose gold sheen on the page edges.
