First thought it the pictures are small. They are pics of the live plants which I like and the pictures appear to be of good quality but some are a bit small (2x2 inch). I chose "Queen Anne's Lace, Wild Carrot" because it has poisonous look-alikes. Again pics are a bit small to really distiquish easily the differences. Other information is a pretty good description, location, food (with a Caution section), traditional uses, modern uses, notes and wildlife veterinary uses sections. Each section had some nice information. The traditional uses section give information about how the plant was used originally. The modern uses section gives information about what the plant or parts would be used to treat. Queen Anne's Lace did not actually have a recipe but I skimmed through and there some that say "may fight colds (4 grams of herb to 1 cup of boiling water) ........... and so on. Overall I like the book considering I am totally new to going all natural and wanting to learn about different herbs and their uses. I did buy 3 other books also so I can compare and get different views and information. I don't beleive in using one authors views especially when it comes to medicinal uses for plants. So the only reason this book got 4 stars instead of 5 was because some of the photos are a bit small otherwise I have no complaints with this book. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice *by Y***H on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on November 10, 2014* Haven't read the whole thing; just glanced through some of the content. I like the photos and the layout of the book. Was a bit disappointed with the ID of Queen Anne's lace. The book doesn't really tell you how to distinguish between hemlock-which is deadly-and wild carrot -which is edible. This is a nice edition to my library but I would recommend you use it with a secondary cross reference guide (such as 'Peterson Field Guides:Edible Wild Plants') so you don't accidentally kill yourself. Overall this guide has some excellent info in it and I would recommend it. ### ⭐⭐⭐ disappointed *by R***A on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on June 2, 2016* Well.....it's an attractive book, with a lot of great pictures.....but it's of no use to me. I found about 5 plants that grow in my area....I already know them well! Luckily, I ordered another Field guide that has much more to it.This book also contradicts itself in some places. Skullcap is a tea I drink often to soothe my nerves and helps me sleep. This book says it's poisonous if consumed, and the next line tells you how to consume it.I'm not going to waste my time trying to send it back. I'm glad it's helpful to some people.
