If you need an absolute tight fit to ceiling I would not go further than five feet apart. Also, once the poles are supporting the plastic, you can easily tape the top edge to hold it tight to ceiling. **Q: Does this include a plastic barrier?** A: No, plastic sheeting is not included in the ZP4. I would recommend using a 4 mil or 6 mil thickness rather than very thin plastic as the thin plastic moves too in breezes and can rip more easily. **Q: If I purchase 12” poles will they adjust down to 10” walls , just to have the option in heights?** A: The ZipPoles can only extend to 10 feet.
