Plants are well rooted and established and are 8 to 12 inches tall in small pot Magnolia grandiflora, commonly known as the southern magnolia or bull bay, is a tree of the family Magnoliaceae native to the southeastern United States, from coastal North Carolina to central Florida, and west to East Texas and Oklahoma. Reaching 27.5 m (90 ft) in height, it is a large, striking evergreen tree, with large dark green leaves up to 20 cm (7.9 in) long and 12 cm (4.7 in) wide, and large, white, fragrant flowers up to 30 cm (12 in) in diameter. Although endemic to the lowland subtropical forests on the Gulf and south Atlantic coastal plain, magnolia grandiflora is widely cultivated in warmer areas around the world. The timber is hard and heavy, and has been used commercially to make furniture, pallets, and veneer. Magnolia grandiflora cultivar being able to handle -20 Degree. **Q: Can i start growing inside? Or will it withstand an oregon winter.....**
A: The magnolia bush can withstand the outdoors but...when I received mine it was 4 inches. Big price tag for a 4 inch start.

**Q: Is this a dwarf cultivar?**
A: No, this will be a full mature tree.

**Q: How much does it grow in a year**
A: We haven’t had this very long, so I googled your question. It seems growth is dependent on a few variables, but the rate averages 1-2 feet a year.

**Q: I purchased 7 of these and 4 are thriving the other 3 have turned brown and look like they are dying.**
A: Well, let me tell you this: The one that bought looks like it is dying as well but the leaves are still on the stock and I am watering it as well as giving it plant food. This was about a year ago. I have leaf that looks like it will pop open soon but hasn't yet. The leaves on these when they die they will fall off.  Just give it time. They do like sun and sem to need alot of water but you will have to use your judgement on that one.  Hope this helps.
