A: Most radiators today are made of aluminum and plastic. Permatex 80030 is a strong acid cleaner. Suggest you not use it in a aluminum radiator.

**Q: Is it okay to use on a 1966 Chevy Caprice radiator original**
A: Yes. All radiators made during the 60's and into the 70's were made out of brass and copper. I have used Permatex 80030 in my all original 1970 Chevelle.

**Q: does this product remove scale on top of tubes**
A: What's Up John C!My appologies, but unfortunately, I never got a chance to use the product because it was rated to be unsafe to use on aluminum radiators and motors...with that said, I imagine it should be able to remove scale on the top of tubes(especially since, the acidity is capable of wearing away aluminum). I know this doesn't 'quite' answer your question, but that's my take. Again, I Appologize for not being more useful. Good Luck! ;)

A: yes you do have an aluminum radiator in that car. drain all coolant from vehicle. fill with water add a quarter cup of radiator cleaner. and run for 15 to 20 minutes. drain and repeat if necessary. flush radiator with water. and refill with 50:50 mixture of antifreeze
