Q: I have a square post that is about 7.25 inches on each side. Would this fit? Wondering if it is large enough and if will work for square?

Hi Sparky, The Lolly Wrap by itself is designed to cover and work with up to a 12-13 inch circumference. When covering a larger dimension (like yours), multiple units can be fashioned together to increase the circumference capacity. The aggressive adhesive strip that typically seals the sleeve onto itself is used to adhere to another sleeve, Kind of like taping two pieces of paper together to make a larger poster. The installation process is the same just with larger sleeves to go around your larger pole. It would take two Lolly Wraps to accommodate your current dimension.

Q: Is the exterior white wrap paintable?

Not realy because of the external sleeve being flexible in nature, the paint would crack when flexed and likely peel.

Q: How thick is the padding after being wrapped around the pole?

The high density foam adds 1/2 inch of padding around entire pole. Please view installation video below or at our website, lollywrap.com to view more product details

Q: Can this be used on outside playground?

Suppose it could but the longevity of using in outdoor playground would probably require replacement more frequently. I would check with maker of this product for outdoor use. It’s a great product for indoor application which we have and are pleased.
