I love not having to take all of my work directly off of the bat before it is ready. Just use a pencil, a sharpie, a screwdriver, a dowel or something smooth to pry up the inserts when you are ready, because once the bat gets wet and soggy, it will expand a tiny bit as expected. I had always wanted to try one of the bat systems with inserts. I likely will order more inserts. They are a space saver on the shelves. I recommend using a metal tool to remove the inserts, since I broke a wooden tool removing an one. Also, be sure to wet these a bit before smacking a ball of clay on the bat. If they're too dry, the clay won't adhere during centering.One complaint is that the inserts swell a bit after wet, which I discovered when I removed one insert to let a bowl firm up a bit before altering the foot. I could not get it back in the adapter. I thought this would be a huge advantage of this system, and it works 2 out of 3 times, but not that third time. If you throw drier, this likely will not be a problem.My only disappointment with the system is that expedited shipping was not an option on Amazon.
