I have naturally wavy curly hair and when I have used them they do hold a curl. It depends upon how long you leave the roller in and what condition your hair is in. You can always use hairspray to hold the curl after you take out the roller. For myself I have used the rollers without hairspray. They have added the curls or waves where I wanted them to. I have curling irons, round brushes, heated brushes and various other hair appliances. This set however is my go to for solid curls or waves. I hopes this helps you. This is great if you want to put the curlers in heated and you have other things to do. You know multi tasking. **Q: No pic shown of the electric cord. Where is it located?** A: The electronic cord is located in the back of the rollers, extending from a square hole. **Q: dual voltage** A: There are no switchs on this unit, it is just a heating element. On the bottom label it states that it is rated for both 110 and 220. If you are going to use it with 220 make sure to not to use a transformer unit, just use an adapter plug.
