We have always tried to find good value, but not at the expense of poor quality, or food that our birds don't seem to relish. Over years, we've tried many different food blends, but after finding and first using the Volkman Avian Science Foods some three years ago, we have used no other blended food. Our African Grey gets a combination of this African Grey food and sunflower seeds, and our Macaw gets a combination of the the Volkman Macaw food and pistachios. Both birds enjoy the food and maintain great appearance and health. This is not inexpensive food--and at times it can be limited supply. We have used three different suppliers over time (including desertcart), because it is not always consistently in stock at all places. I would welcome a little lower price--more in line with other more common foods--but they simply don't match the quality or are as well-liked by our birds, so I pony up the money to buy the Volkman. I have found this food to be consistently fresh and the same high-quality blend, sack after sack. All-in-all, based on our experience I can highly recommend this food for your parrots; I think it's worth the extra challenge and cost to locate and buy.
