It's ideal for any type of walk or hike, strenuous or casual. Each staff is beautifully stained, magnifying the wood's beautiful grain patterns. Every stick is sprayed with a protective clear coat lacquer. The result is a smooth finish that highlights the wood's intrinsic beauty. The finished staff is a one-of-a-kind, handcrafted walking stick that is both sturdy and attractive. The Hitchhiker Walking Stick comes with a standard rubber tip for a firm, secure grip on virtually any surface. Like all of our finely crafted walking sticks and canes, the Hitchhiker Walking Stick is made in the USA by our skilled craftsmen using the highest quality wood and time-tested methods. Made in America, One at a Time Unlike sterile, lifeless metal canes and poles, Brazos walking sticks offer natural appeal because they are made from real wood. You can see the fine detail and beauty of the actual tree when you look at one. Each stick is a work of art and no two are exactly alike. Brazos Walking Sticks is family operated and located in the beautiful Brazos River Valley of Central Texas. Each walking stick is handcrafted by skilled local craftsmen. How to Size a Walking Stick Sizing a walking stick is largely a matter of personal preference, but we do offer recommendations based on our 20 years' experience: 41" is primarily for children, 48" for adults up to 5'4"; 55" for adults between 5'4" and 5'11"; and 58" for adults taller than 5'11". The stick can also be sized down with a hand saw. ## Features - IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR A SOLID WOOD WALKING STICK with good looks and a relatively light weight, this stick will be a welcome companion on your next walk or hike - UNLIKE LIFELESS METAL POLES, THIS HIKING STICK IS CRAFTED FROM NATURAL WOOD - the choicest oak, a wood stained with a beautiful finish - MANY USES! It's an excellent choice for walkers, hikers or collectors. Don't be surprised if people stop you to ask where you got it - THE HITCHHIKER HANDLE IS A BRAZOS ORIGINAL WITH ITS "THUMBS UP" PROFILE AND THE DISTINCTIVE TWIST IS ALSO ONE OF OUR OWN. Lightweight and functional. It features a very well designed ergonomic grip area that is curved in such a way as to provide a positive, varied and comfortable grip surface for any situation. Made of solid Ash and finished to perfection, it is as attractive as it is functional.I began using walking staff's instead of cane's because I found that I enjoyed better stability for my tired old arthritic legs. This one is perfect for all occasions and I have received many compliments on it's quality finish and style. If this is what you're looking for, you can buy it with confidence. It is a fine product at any price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Really a 4 1/2 star product. *by T***7 on Reviewed in the United States on December 26, 2012* Very nicely made and attractive. Seems very sturdy. Purchased as a Christmas present for my wife who loves it so far. Took off 1/2 star because the handle part isn't round but flattened out. Probably fits smaller hands better that way but the full round shape would be more comfortable and easier to grasp for those with large hands like me. All in all I'm pleased with the purchase. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ PERFECT *by W***S on Reviewed in the United States on May 19, 2013* I walk and hike daily and the Twisted Ash Hitchhiker is dynamic. Very comfortable and light to use. I am very pleased with my decision to purchase and use this "walking stick". RECOMMENDATION: Purchase the "Hitchhiker" that matches your height for ease of use.
