The doctor told us to just wait it out and see if the belly button hernia went away by 1 years old. I like to be proactive and at least TRY to do something. I didn’t want to go the old school route with a silver coin, but this is the updated version on that method. Leaving the hernia alone just meant it was getting bigger and bigger each day. I tried the baby hernia belt version, but it was squeezing my baby and making him uncomfortable. Also this product made it easier for the section that applies pressure to stay in the right position all day. The adhesive never irritated baby’s skin (I’d leave it on for a day or two then let his skin breathe for a few hours before applying a new one). After about a month the hernia was gone! I didn’t even use the whole pack before it got better and we discontinued use. The only time it didn’t stick to baby’s skin is if we had lotion or something applied to the skin first. As long as we avoided that the adhesive was fine. Also, pulling it off didn’t cause any discomfort either.
