Product Description In June 1972, five men are arrested in Washington's watergate building. What looks like a third-rate burglary attempt on the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee induces journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein of the Washington post to start a thorough investigation. Over the following two years, they discover that the five men were directed from within the white house to spy on political opponents. As a consequence, in 1974 President Richard Nixon resigns from office to avoid impeachment. In watergate, one player assumes the role of a journalist, while the other embodies the Nixon administration-each with a unique set of cards. To win, the Nixon Administration must build up enough momentum to make it to the end of the Presidential term, whereas the journalist must gather enough evidence to connect two informants directly to the President. Of course, the Administration will do all in its power to smother any evidence. Directions In Watergate, one player assumes the role of a journalist, while the other embodies the Nixon administration, each with a unique set of cards. To win, the Nixon Administration must build up enough momentum to make it to the end of the Presidential term, whereas the journalist must gather enough evidence to connect two informants directly to the President. Review: Like it! - Enjoying the game so far (only played twice). The overall quality is reasonable. The one criticism I have is that the cards are warped/bent as if they were wrapped too tightly in the plastic. Another thing is that I can see how in time the cardboard tokens can become worn or peel around the edges as they aren't as smooth as those of some other games. The gameboard, box and card quality is very good and the wooden pieces nice & chunky. Plus the rulebook is full of interesting historical facts around the incident. You can get it cheaper from other retailers in the UK though...
Review: Tightly balanced excellent game - A brilliant game. Very finely balanced and with a satisfying and well-serving aesthetic, complemented by fascinating tidbits of info and quotes. (Nb: We played it slightly wrong for the first few goes resulting in it feeling impossible to win as the Editor of the Washington Post. Be sure to move the new Momentum Marker on the Research Track whenever the editor places an Evidence Piece with the Momentum Marker symbol, on the evidence board.)

Enjoying the game so far (only played twice). The overall quality is reasonable. The one criticism I have is that the cards are warped/bent as if they were wrapped too tightly in the plastic. Another thing is that I can see how in time the cardboard tokens can become worn or peel around the edges as they aren't as smooth as those of some other games. The gameboard, box and card quality is very good and the wooden pieces nice & chunky. Plus the rulebook is full of interesting historical facts around the incident. You can get it cheaper from other retailers in the UK though...

If you are looking for a good game for two that plays relatively fast (30 - 60 mins) and that it is tense and nobody know who is going to win until the very last moment, this is the game! A must have in any game collection.
