How It Works The canister filter uses a powerful reliable 15-watt motor to cycle through 210 gallons of water an hour. The water is syphoned from the inlet into the canister, it is then filtered through all the different media that is included with purchase (see list below). The first stage of filtration starts with the sponges and wadding that catch any floating dirt or debris. The second stage is the Biological filtration, during this stage the water passes through porous ceramic noodles which house good bacteria that your fish or plants need for a healthy aquarium. Once the whole filtration process is completed the clean water isthen sent back to the tank.
