I am someone who will chew and pick my nails and surrounding skin until they're so short they bleed and hurt constantly (not to mention look horrendous), yet still keep going... Mavala stop is the only nail biting deterrent that has worked for me. It does not taste 'spicy' like other products, it just tastes horrible! For those concerned about visibility, it is essentially clear nail polish that tastes bad. The shine doesn't last as long as regular nail polish. For reference, I applied Mavala Stop about 6 hours prior to taking the attached photo. I have seen other reviews that have complained they taste it when they eat... This is essentially just bad tasting nail polish. There is not any artificial intelligence involved... It does not know if you're chewing your nails vs. eating.. so after it's recently applied, if your nail touches your lip/tongue, of course you will taste it... But I have never had the taste transfer over to food while I am cooking. Just be conscience about it... If you're going out for wings, don't apply it before, or get boneless... it keeps your hands away from your mouth which not only is more hygienic, but it helps me with my "hand to mouth habit"....
