Not just because of the cold loss from the outside of the bag, since it's only one layer thick, but also because if it dangles against your leg you might get frostbite. Otherwise this bag is a great find, and better made than I expected. The fabric is actual woven fabric, the seams are covered, and (yay) there is a two-ended zipper on both the top and the bottom. This means the bag can be made flat to fit in the freezer, but also means it's really easy to clean. This will be great as a freezer compartment in the beach cooler (maybe with an additional cold brick inside).
