It features a ceramic burr and a large glass body that holds quite a lot of pepper and easily lets you see how much is inside without disassembly. It has a simpler mechanism than most pepper grinders, where the burr is in the twist top rather than the base. Thus, it breaks down into fewer parts. The burr is fairly small, this makes it easy to turn, but you don't get much pepper at a time. and it comes with a clear plastic cap that covers the burr section. This is difficult to remove; it sits flush with the lip of the grinder, with only a small and subtle relief for you to get a grip to remove the lid.
