### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

    Very impressive!

*by W***N on Reviewed in the United States on November 6, 2018*

The dimensions of this toy version are perfect, and the feel of the grip is very convincing (the weight, obviously, does not conform). I am well acquainted w/ the actual M1911A1: I was issued one numerous times over my 30 years as a soldier, and won a number of marksmanship awards w/ one "off the rack". Overall, I'm very impressed w/ the product, and I'm a connoisseur of the M1911A1. The magazine release on this toy is in the correct position on the left side of the lower receiver group, just behind the trigger well. The magazine locks into place, but upon release, it does not then project out of the well as a real one would; you have to move it out. The magazine is impressive, loading like a real one; it holds only 5 rounds, though, and that's a shame. To cock, pull the upper receiver group back, and guide it forward - again, just like w/ a real one. The hammer is fixed in place, which is a shame. Except in weight, this feels real. Treat this toy delicately; it is plastic, after all. It shouldn't break, if you are reasonable w/ it. This is a "procedural toy", instructive in loading, unloading, and in pistol handling, sighting, and firing techniques. Ignore the fact that the round doesn't project far in firing; that's actually a benefit, not a fault. But why would you want a toy one?If you have just returned from a Deployment, and feel uncomfortable (even panicky) w/o a Service pistol, buy one of these, paint it* steel grey, w/ brown grips, and the look and feel of it will satisfy you psychologically, w/o the cost, risk, and need of licensing (your wife will prefer that you do this, too!). Many of us, just off Deployment, feel panic if we don't have one of our issued firearms w/in reach at all times - been there! I carried my service pistol (SN#1265853, a Beretta M92E, or "M9" 9 mm) in a shoulder holster in combat, and it became a fine habit to continually check it, absent-mindedly tapping the magazine base periodically throughout the day to: a) ensure that the pistol was there; and b) that it had a magazine locked into the well. People who've never Deployed, and thus never "decompressed" afterwards, don't understand the odd paranoia of being suddenly weapon-less (you feel naked/vulnerable, and may break into a cold sweat) - or for that matter the feeling of suddenly living at an unbearably slow pace of never-served civilians (combat is remarkably fast-paced, you live "burning the candle at both ends"). Anything to get over it! This is very satisfying to the touch, if you have that craving. Six months or so later and you'll laugh at the memory of the decompression, and how you got over it! This toy will thereafter become a conversation piece, after decompression has (blessedly) become a memory.Obviously, keep it at home and never take it anywhere where someone may see it, or you could inadvertently appear to threaten someone w/ it. I would not expect the police to have any sense of humor! It may get you over the odd immediately-post-Deployment anxiety/panic of feeling weaponless, if you just put it in a desk drawer in your library, to visit it when necessary. Be "up front" w/ your wife about the temporary need, and it's OK: a harmless temporary psychological crutch that just may stave off a PTSD episode. If it can accomplish that mission, then that's fabulous, right? And it's a very cheap fix.*This is not easy to paint. First, find a small, but broad-headed Phillips screwdriver. Disassemble it fully. Paint the four main pieces: two halves of the lower receiver group; two halves of the upper receiver group. I suggest a silver or silver-gray, w/ dark brown for the grips. The trigger will also need to be painted. Wait until all pieces are fully dry before reassembly. Oil the runners, the trigger lever which is internal, and also the inside of both halves of the upper receiver group. Only then should you reassemble.

    Arrived on time

*by N***S on Reviewed in the United States on December 27, 2018*

Haven't opened it yet but I got it for my nephew to play with, he probably wont use the bullets very much. (He is 3 after all, no aiming skills and dont want a cracked lamp)Great condition and great toy to add to his toy collection. love that it looks like a water gun which was my main concern about getting him a pretend gun that wasnt a nerf. (We are a gun owning family and we dont want him to think THOSE are toys. Dont worry they are locked up, best to cover all bases. Definitely)I recommend if you want a brightly colored toy gun and might not let your kid use the bullets like us.Again, don't know of the functionality yet and ours will see light use, you'll have to check a different reveiw for that knowledge.

    It doesn't shoot

*by D***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 23, 2021*

I purchased this for my Halloween cop costume. The gun shot the foam bullets once and after that it doesn't shoot them anymore. If you want something functional, look elsewhere.
