I thought this pillow would be something they can use because my other friends had complained that their child had a flat head so hopefully this will prevent that. I'm not sure whether this will help with head shape (the scientific literature I've read is mixed), but so far, I just let my baby (currently 4 mo) use it when he naps outside of the crib.
