Faber Castell-Creative Studio Soft Pastel Crayons. These crayons have a stable consistency are economical in use and adhere exceptionally well to paper card wood and stone. This 6-3/4x7x3/4 inch package contains forty-eight pastel crayons in assorted colors. Conforms to ASTM D4236. Imported.

Review: Nice set of colors - For a 48 set they had a nice range. Of course the toned down colors are what are omitted but that doesn't take away from their beauty. I did several drawings with just this set before integrating them with my other pastels. I am confident that the quality and lightfastness is good. Nice set

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is there a way to see the full palette of colors? The photographer just did not understand what he was photographing.**
A: Not sure if you can find this photographed on another art supply site.  BTW, the image in the 3rd photograph is not this set.  I am sure you will be pleased with the selection at this price.  I was.

**Q: Is open stock avalable for individual replacements?**
A: Yes they are available. We plan to add them to the Amazon catalogue by September

**Q: Would these be good for adult coloring books for backgrounds and do they need to be sprayed when finished so they don't smudge?**
A: I use these for my background in my adult coloring book, there is no tooth for these pastels
to grab onto so you only get a very light shading for background.
After I color my picture, I add a little of these and it gives me a beautiful pale background that
really makes my colored pencil coloring really pop.
Of course these are beautiful on toothy paper, nice vibrant colors.

**Q: Can you use them with water**
A: Yes, with a brush to emphasize certain areas. Be careful not to let the water drip.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pretty good but some colors may be an issue

I like the variety of colors, and the mini size of the pastels did not bother me because I really wanted a sampler box. So for me, this set works. But be aware of the size; see my photo that shows the box with a quarter on top of the pastel sticks in the top left corner for scale. The issue I had immediately was when I swatched out a deep blue on gray-toned paper, and the pastel wouldn't blend out. See bottom right corner of swatch paper photos. I then chipped off some blue dust from the same pastel, sprinkled it on the paper, and then blended. This worked fine and blended out well. See top right on paper in photos. I haven't swatched all colors yet, but I suspect others will cause me the same concern.
