For me, 6'0, 225lbs, they feel like they fall just short of grabbing my sides. Other than this I could lower the neck part and it really feels like my whole back is getting the massage. IF the side air bags were adjustable like everything else...I'd give the machine 5 1/2. Nevertheless, it gets the job done.
