## Description

This teleconverter is specifically designed for your M.Zuiko Digital lens. The Olympus MC-14 teleconverter increases the focal length of the lens by 1.4x, optimising your photographic possibilities and giving you more telephoto zoom in a body that is only 15 mm thin. With only one aperture, the MC-14 delivers a fast super-telephoto experience in combination with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150 mm PRO F2.8 and M.Zuiko Digital ED 300 mm F4 PRO. If you're into sports, nature or wildlife photography, you'll appreciate the high-quality metal body that is dust and splash-proof. This teleconverter is multi-coated to maintain the high lens performance you expect from Olympus. This way, you'll achieve the professional results you've always wanted.

Review: M.Zuiko 1.4x Teleconverter MC‑14 + ED 40‑150mm PRO F2.8 Lens - A Perfect Pairing for Extended Reach - I’ve been using the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter MC‑14 with my M.Zuiko Digital ED 40‑150mm PRO F2.8 lens, and I’m thoroughly impressed by how well these two pieces of equipment complement each other. This combination is a game-changer for anyone who needs more reach without sacrificing too much image quality or portability. The MC‑14 is incredibly compact, considering the boost in focal length it provides. It feels solid, well-built, and weather-sealed—matching the ruggedness of the 40-150mm PRO lens. It seamlessly attaches to the lens with no wobble or noticeable play, which is something I always appreciate when working with accessories like teleconverters. The overall setup is still relatively lightweight compared to larger telephoto zooms, and I find it easy to handle for extended periods without feeling fatigued. The real magic happens when you start shooting. With the 1.4x teleconverter in place, the focal length of the 40-150mm jumps to 56-210mm, which gives you a bit more reach while maintaining excellent image quality. For most practical purposes, the sharpness is still very high, even at the long end of the lens. I’ve done a fair amount of bird photography and wildlife shots, and I’ve noticed very little loss in resolution, even at f/4 (the maximum aperture with the teleconverter in place). The autofocus performance also holds up remarkably well. The MC‑14 doesn’t slow down the focusing speed, and the lens continues to lock onto subjects quickly and accurately. This is a huge plus when shooting moving subjects like wildlife. One area where you might see a slight trade-off is in low-light conditions. The f/4 aperture at the long end doesn’t let in as much light as f/2.8, and while the in-body stabilization (IBIS) on my OM-5 does a fantastic job, you may need to adjust your settings or use a higher ISO in lower light. However, the teleconverter does a good job of preserving image clarity, and the slightly slower aperture is a small price to pay for the added reach. This combo has been incredibly versatile for me. I’ve used it for everything from wildlife and nature photography to landscape as well. The 1.4x teleconverter gives you a solid range of focal lengths that you can quickly adapt to, without needing to carry around a separate, heavier super-telephoto lens. If you’re like me and you want to travel light without sacrificing reach, this setup strikes a perfect balance. This is now my go-to set up for when I go abroad and want to reduce the weight in my luggage (I have the M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-600mm F5.0 which is great but too hefty to carry with limited baggage allowance). I highly recommend the Olympus M.Zuiko Digital 1.4x Teleconverter MC‑14 if you already own the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm PRO F2.8 lens. It extends your focal range and opens up new creative possibilities, all while maintaining a high level of optical quality. Sure, there’s a slight compromise in terms of light-gathering ability, but for the vast majority of situations, this pairing delivers fantastic results. It’s an excellent solution for anyone looking to get more out of their micro four-thirds system without breaking the bank or adding unnecessary weight to their kit.
Review: Very effective when paired with the right lens/es - Turns my OM System 300mm F/4 IS Pro lens into a 420mm F/5.6 in Micro Four Thirds terms, or the approximate equivalent of 840mm F/5.6 in 35mm Full-Frame terms. That is a lot of zoom, and is incredible for distant wildlife. With this setup you can bring small, skittish creatures right into full, sharp focused clarity. I actually bought one before for the OM 100-400 F5.6-6.3 mk.I, sold it because I wasn't happy with the image quality degradation when I used it on that lens, but rebought it when I got the 300mm. You can make a case for it on the 100-400 (and people absolutely do get good results with it), but it feels like it's the missing piece on the 300.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have an olympus omd e-m10 would an olympus mc 1.4 tele converter bl fit my camera with a m. zuiko digital 40-150 mm lens?**
A: It’s actually pretty awful. The way the lens sticks out in front prevents it being used with all but 2 M4/3 lenses and they are too short to gain much by using it. Absolutely nothing else can be used particularly the longer lens it might have been useful with.

If its case was longer I.e. level with the lens, it would fit nearly all M4/3 lenses so it’s a REALLY missed opportunity!

**Q: Will this work with Zuiko 100-400**
A: Hi There
Sorry No ... Compatible with the M.Zuiko Digital ED 40-150mm F2.8 PRO and M.Zuiko Digital ED 300mm F4.0 IS PRO lenses.

regards
The electronBazaar Crew

**Q: Does this work with the Olympus TG series?**
A: No, this will only mount to m4/3 cameras, and then only works with the 300 f4 and 40-150 f2.8 Pro lenses.

**Q: I have an Olympus 40-150mm 4/3 for my E520, is this converter compatible?**
A: 1.4 teleconverter is for MICRO 4/3 cameras, and only compatible with the Olympus 40/150 PRO lens !

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very effective when paired with the right lens/es

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well with compatible lenses
*by P***N on 12 September 2025*

Used the 1.4 converter with 300mm lens. This lens is already relatively heavy and long for an OM1 mark II but the converter did not worsen the balance appreciably and auto functions were not affected. Optically very good. The moon image was taken with the 300 mm lens plus converter. The image was cropped so that the moon fills the frame yet quality remains quite good. It is important to check that existing lenses are designed to be compatible with the converter before purchase because many are not.
