The voltages on the three terminals from left to right (beware, one of the Amazon pictures is reversed) are + / - / - whereas on my old battery they are + / - / +. My old B&D charger is very simple, has no LEDs and just the two pins (the + / - ) and so the third pin (right) is unused. My new battery charges OK on the old charger. I assume from other comments that some chargers use this third pin for overheating protection, in which case they won't work unless you make a wiring change inside the battery.
