Thanks very much, Simon.** A: Simon, this depends on how many cameras you have and the format and resolution you use. As a rule if you use 2 x HD1080 cameras with a 1TB hard drive recording at a high frame rate you would get 15 to 18 days at a lower frame rate you could get over 30 days. You can also increase the HD to upto 4TB for more storage if you would like to. Hope that helps. **Q: Can you use this system without an internet connection** A: Yes you can but then you cannot view any recordings or real time view on your smartphone. All you can see will be recorded on the DVR hard drive for the last 7-10 days. **Q: Specifically what model internal cameras (wired and wifi) are fully compatible with this specific dvr. thanks.** A: HDC-402W-2 Smart Living HD1080 Indoor wired cameras work fine, I have them and two wireless outdoor cameras. I could not connect WIPC-303W HOME VIEW camera, this one also uses separate smartphone application. **Q: Does this record constant or does it only work for motion detection** A: Mine is set to record all the time. There are lot of options, depends how you want it to work and you can setup specified times, on movement, alerts... On constant recording (depending on how many cameras you have) it saves about 10 to 14 days for 6 cameras that I have. You can view recordings on your phone and live as well. Moved cameras lower night vision ok too works well on my iPhone ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Don't forget your password *by M***Y on 3 April 2022* This is the 3rd video camera set up I have had dealings with. They all seem to share the same user interface which seen for the first time is very techie and has a lot obscure settings accessible from the control panel. However the basic functions can be set from the app, which is also not that inutitive.There are a lot of pit-falls with CCTV for the DIY installer. You really have to think carefully about camera placement and what you are capturing as images, when, and why. The mistake I made this time was allowing emails to be generated, forgetting that if usual people or animals are going to be in the selected field of view, and you are using the motion sense facility they will of course generate a lot of false alarms. This filled up my inbox with 100's of messages.The next bad mistake was fogetting the system password, because the only way of stopping the emails is from the console screen, not the app. Unlike almost any other 'smart' product you can't directly generate a reset password link. It has to be done through an off-line support. Amazon's helpdesk were a waste of time as they gave me information relating to a different product altogether. The Yale helpdesk never called me back after I explained what wanted to do. In the end I had to master reset the system and install everything all over again. (You have to take the lid off the HDD and press a tiny button on the PCB. There's no intstructions about this either)In summary not the easiest thing to set up, but they are probably all similar.
