It comes with six different blades, one of which is for a wavy finish. I used that for the chips and it worked extremely well. The slices were just the right size for chips, and they came out great. Being able to slice with this device is such a time saver. I couldn't imagine sitting there trying to slice potatoes or anything else for twenty, thirty minutes or more. Took me maybe two minutes for six or seven potatoes at most. You are dealing with a sharp blade so you still need to exercise care. Clean up was simple. Clean all except the blade as you would clean other dishes. Rinse the blade, use the included brush to remove any debris that may be caught under it, rinse again. Device is sturdy, durable. I've used it a few times since buying it, and I expect it to last for a while. Veey easy recommendation!
