The only thing is the filter media. The bio-rings are plastic and the pads are not so good. But for me not a deal breaker because I most of the time change things in my filter anyway. Bought new pads that were in a bundle and foam. And I had bioballs of ceramic. Added a lot of bio-material for bacteria to grow. The pump began putting out far less volume of water. I took it apart and cleaned everything and it still was moving little water. I pulled the intake cover and checked the lines, there was no obstruction. I even tried with the filters out, no go. I'm getting a replacement and will update. I'm worried if this happens again I'll be outside of the return window. Update on my update. I received the replacement and the motor was noisy. Also none of the fittings were correct. The downtubes were clear plastic and too small for the inlet cage. Also they sent me two inlet elbows with no way to fit the spray arm. After cobbleing the hoses together to make this thing work, the new pump leaked. I tried resetting the top portion and no matter what it leaked about 2 inches in a 5 gallon bucket in an hour. It was coming from where the handles are in the top. I absolutely would not recommend this unit.
