Our toddler is still very unsteady on his feet and can't handle the style of most snow boots. These are very easy for him to walk in, and his preschool teachers like them so much that they tend to leave him in them all day. They go on very easily, keep his feet completely dry, and are warm enough for the short periods of time (up to half an hour at a time) that he is outside at school. The soles are very hard - like hard plastic - and although they have a tread to them which I can see would be helpful in loose snow, on every other surface (just in the house) they are so slick. My little guy could not stay standing as he'd slide and fall with each step.
