I had high expectations for this book. It exceeded them! I fell in love with Pierre Jeanty's work because he has an amazing ability to translate complex emotions and experiences to relatable and pure language. I truly feel like have a greater understanding of the men in my life. My perspective and expectations have changed positively. I feel like I'm able to give more grace and patience. Now having more knowledge of what can go on in their minds and hearts. By no means was I a man basher, but it's become easy to look and sum them up. Or be frustrated by their communication (or lack thereof) There are several things that men do and say (or not do and say) that perplex me. And although, as Mr. Jeanty clearly states, he doesn't speak for all men...I honestly feel more insightful about the thoughts, emotions, wounds and Joy's of a man. When I read 'Her' and "Her 2' I recall saying "Wow! Yes! He gets it. He really just gets it/me/women!". I had that same reaction with "Him'...and said "Wow! Yes! I get it now. I can understand him/lover/friend/brother/father better." I love and will continue to support this great author and poet!

I chose this rating because this book provides us with a better understanding about compassionate towards others. I also recognized that regardless of the books title, the book helps us with examples to help with understanding that not everyone is alike. Also, because of past experiences, we should be open to the fact that there are people who have qualities beyond what the only see, they have values, morals and hearts of gold. The ones that believe that are not picture perfect , should be open with their hearts by observing the qualities one brings to the table. I have so much respect for the words that were expressed in such a beautiful manner. I highly. Recommend this book to others. Thank you

pooled ink Reviews:I loved that he was inspired to write this book of poetry to companion HER. Not only do men and women walk side-by-side in life but in soul and his poetry really shows this in both collections. Although love is a major theme in both books, each one takes a specific focus towards "her" or "him". Just as women were encouraged and empowered in HER., Jeanty takes this moment to encourage and inspire men, something I feel men are in desperate need of. While HER. explored a woman's heart, needs, and fears, this did the same for men. What I particularly love about both of these poetry collections is that although the message speaks to "her" or "him", truly each poem beseeches the other just as much as the self. When Jeanty spins prose revealing a woman's need to be loved he is also speaking to men and showing them what she needs, and vice versa. Without being overly political Jeanty manages to hit the nail on the head in HER. and HIM.

I put my man on to this book..we read it together. He loves it. The poems are deep. I have Her V1, but I like these poems more. And I just love the bonding time that I get with my man.

I loved this, you start reading and before you know it you’ve finished the whole thing.

The uptake , outlook and vision seems worth a praise. The evident point in the evitable. . Good read and try.

One of my favourite authors. He just speaks on a level that touches your soul and makes you want more but it also hurts just enough to make you have to savour every last breath you can hear gasping on every page.
