I am between 7 and 7.5 for my normal shoes, so I ordered 7.5. They fit snugly with 2 pair of socks, better if 1 pair is thinner. When I had 2 pair wool socks on, I had to push hard to step in. The boots are very warm, waterproof and good looking. I was wearing a pair of HH winter boots before I ordered these Merrell boots, because the HH boots need to be laced up, but the Merrell boots have zippers (easier to put on). I have rather thick calf, so when I was wearing 3 layers of pants, it was tight at the top of the boots. I have been wearing these boots during my daily walks in town at 0 degrees in Chicago, on icy sidewalks, so far so good. I am happy with my Merrell winter boots and recommend them highly. BTW, I like my HH winter boots as well. Merrell's are such a terrific brand and so, so comfortable. These boots are not only adorable on (I get compliments on them every time I wear them), but they are toasty warm and waterproof. Bought them when I was in Montana in October and tested them during a light snowfall. Walked all day in them and my feet felt great. This is her review. The boots arrived in a large box and appear as in the photos on Amazon. This color was the least expensive and they are very attractive boots. I normally wear a size 9/9.5 women's shoe size. I purchased a size 10 as I anticipated I would be wearing thick winter socks. The boots fit fine with thick socks and wear comfortably. Foot doesn't feel stuffed in boot. Pants can easily be worn inside boot or outside. Outside covers up beautiful styling especially on the back of the boot. Bought them for function not fashion as we get >160" of snow. Wore them for two hours snow blowing in 14 degree weather. They were warm and dry and had great traction on both ice and snow. Appear to be very well constructed. Hope they wear well over time. I have an average sized calf and narrow ankles. The vertical portion of the boot does flair outward for your calf, but if you have wide or thick calves, this portion my be snug. Only wish they were taller.
