Cheers - David in Texas ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solid 4-star budget jacket, but plan on upgrading the armor *by S***T on June 6, 2026* I've had this jacket for a few weeks but have only worn it a few times due to the weather warming up. Initially, I wore it when the temperatures in PA were still in the 30s and 40s on my 5-mile ride to work. With the liner installed, I did not feel cold at all, which really impressed me. Sizing took some trial and error; I purchased about six different jackets in sizes ranging from Large to XXL before finally settling on an XL. For reference, I am 5'10", 210 lbs, with a 44" chest. The XL provides just enough room to fit a thin fleece underneath if needed, while still fitting close enough to the body to not feel confined. Additionally, it isn't so loose that I'm getting hit by tons of wind buffeting while riding my naked bike. I also rode last week in the 60s with the liner out and the vents open, and I was surprised by how much airflow the front and back vents provide. In higher temperatures, I switch to a BYKR mesh jacket to stay cooler (also purchased on Amazon), so I cannot speak to how this one performs in true hot weather. I had to buy the black version since the XL wasn't available in other colors I liked (I think only Red was available at the time, which isn't my style), and riding in a black jacket during the summer isn't exactly fun. Overall, though, I really like the fit. The liner is great, and the vents absolutely do their job for mid-range temperatures. The jacket lost a star for two specific complaints: the zipper and the armor. First, the zipper slider is on the wrong side (the left side instead of the right), which is always frustrating for men's gear in the US. Second, it uses a tiny, delicate zipper instead of a larger, more robust one like I have on my mesh jacket. It is a total pain to get the pin inserted into the slider. In fact, the first jacket I received was too tight and the bottom of the zipper had already pulled away from the fabric, making it incredibly hard to get on or off (which required a return). I expect something similar will happen to this one eventually, at which point I'll look into having a much better, more robust zipper installed on the correct side. My second complaint is the included "armor." The inserts are essentially just basic foam pads. Unless I'm falling off the bike from a standstill, I wouldn't trust them to do anything to protect my back, elbows, or shoulders. I am pretty sure these pads have not actually undergone legitimate CE Level 1 testing and certification. However, this is a budget jacket, so you get what you pay for. On the bright side, because it already has the built-in pockets, you can just replace them with something legitimately CE-certified without breaking the bank. I swapped mine out for a First Manufacturing back protector, AXIAL AX2 shoulder armor, and AXIAL AX2 elbow armor from RevZilla. It cost about $80 total, and now the jacket has full CE Level 2 protection. The flimsy zipper and cheap foam pads are why I gave this a 4-star review. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it and consider it a great value. This is ready to copy and paste right into Amazon!
