I had a different brand I bought earlier, and when I ran that longer (mixing a 2-lb batch) I burned the motor right away (but then it had two buttons and was hard to hold). This was the second brand I tried and I kept in mind not to run longer than a few seconds at a time. So far I have made only 1-lb (oils) batches, and it has been doing a great job. The button is also easy to press and quite comfortable. I am getting a second unit as a back up just in case this one dies too. ### ⭐ Broke apart after 3 uses *by M***S on February 9, 2019* If I could give this stick blender 0 stars I would. I bought this March 2017, have only used it 3 times since. I bought it to blend my oils for soap making, which I don't do often, and on the 3rd use the bottom part of the stick blender fell off and would not turn on! I was so annoyed. For it to fall apart in the middle of blending my oils is not a good feeling, I had no other blender so I had to throw away the batch. I took really good care of it, even stored it in its original box.
