I must qualify I am NOT a physician. Using it is at your own risk. Guar gum has to be mixed in very cold water since it becomes gel like and then it can be difficult to swallow if you mix too much of it in too little water. I usually mix a teaspoon in about 12 oz of refrigerator cold water. A good water soluble prebiotic fiber is Acacia Senegal fiber. It does not create a gel. I find it to be extremely effective in keeping the digestive tract freely moving. It also is a source of nutrients for your gut's micobiome. **Q: Is this the same as Acacia gum? Thanks** A: No Guar gum and Acacia are two different gums. Guar gum forms a gel like solution, and can be very difficult to swallow. If I remember right some people could get intestinal blockage. Mix a tablespoon in hot water and the spoon will almost immediately stand upright in the thickened gum that is formed. Acacia Senegal gum fully dissolves in cold water.
