They are able to survive in salt, brackish, and fresh water. The propagules are not harvested from public shorelines, they are grown privately. We offer a two month survival guarantee. The plants you will receive will have established roots with at least two leaves. Most plants will be around 12" in height with an absolute minimum of 10 inches. Care instructions: Remove the plants from the shipping material. The temperature of this tropical plant should not drop below 40 degrees. Tank- Gently rinse them in room temperature fresh or tank water if you are placing them in an aquarium. Do not pack the roots down. Provide at least 12 hours a day of bright, daylight-spectrum light from a lamp or overhead light. The leaves need to be rinsed and cleaned everyday if the Mangrove is in a saltwater. If they begin dropping leaves, then it is not getting rinsed enough. They need to dispose of the salt through their leaves. Pot Planting- Cover their roots with soil, add fertilizer. Make sure their roots stay moist. They require filtered light. Please keep in mind, Mangroves don't tolerate full sun very well they thrive better in the shade. Mist them once a week if they are indoors. ## Features - 5 Red Mangrove Seedlings (Rhizophora mangle) - Great for tank Nitrate filtration - Established roots with at least two leaves and minimum 8" height - Privately grown - Not harvested from public shorelines - Suitable for indoor/outdoor pot planting, aquariums, and hydroponic garden. - Weather Awareness: "WINTER SHIPPING: If your local temperatures are below freezing, please track your package closely to ensure it is not left outside. Will they acclimate to fresh if they have roots? If going into fresh, would horticultural charcoal substrate work?** A: Lightly salted. I live in Michigan. They don’t do well in the cold weather. Thrown them out 2 weeks after receiving them **Q: Can you keep in a vase - similar to keeping Bamboo?** A: Yes, as long as you keep water over the roots. **Q: I am very interested in this, but I want to put them in a planter outside. What material do I use to make the planter so the salt mud won't erode it?** A: I think a thick plastic planter without holes would work. Or even a five gallon mixing container from Menards just paint outside for looks. **Q: Can i just stick them into my tank and stick them in a hole in my live rock and let it stick out of the tank would that be okay for these** A: I am not an expert with mangroves. The ones I received have quite a few roots, so some care should be taken not to damage the roots when sticking them into the live rock. I assume that you have bright overhead lighting. They come with good instructions. They recommend making styrafoam floats, which I found king of awkward to work with - they can provide unwanted shade and tended to tip over for me. ## Frequently Bought Together - 5 LIVE Mangroves - Red Mangrove Seedlings - Filtration, Aquarium, Reef, Tank, Saltwater, Aquatic, Plants - Roetelo 2Pcs 3 Holes Upgraded Aquatic Plant Cup Aquarium Plant Holder for Tank, Hanging Aquarium Plant Holder, Aquarium Aquatic Plant Cultivation, Aquarium Plant Decoration. - Upgraded Large Aquarium Plant Holder with Hooks and Suction Cups for Fish Tank Aquaponic Plant Cultivation and Aquascape Decorations (Black) --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.tn/products/70752823-5-live-mangroves-red-mangrove-seedlings-filtration-aquarium-reef-tank](https://www.desertcart.tn/products/70752823-5-live-mangroves-red-mangrove-seedlings-filtration-aquarium-reef-tank) --- *Product available on Desertcart Tunisia* *Store origin: TN* *Last updated: 2026-10-17*
