ORIGINAL REVIEW: Well, I bought this radio primarily as I was looking for a 1.25M (220Mhz) radio with more power than an HT, but after my 220 antenna got damaged recently, I decided to order one of the 7900D antennas and give it a go using all 3 bands I'm licensed for (2M, 1.25M, and 70cm). The radio is plenty loud, the hand mic is comfortable to hold and has nice travel on the PTT button, the keypad buttons are illuminated, and the screen is plenty bright and readable. I've received good audio reports on the 220 repeaters I've used it with, so have no doubt the 2M/70cm side will be the same. All in all, I feel like this little QYT radio presents a very good value for it's price and anyone on a budget should take a serious look at it. Actual output is slightly lower. It is an amateur radio but can transmit out of band. Be careful. It also has 350 to 390 mhz tx and rx. This is not a legal use band in US.
