It does put out a considerable amount of heat for its size, but that's to be expected with its brightness. It is VERY bright even on it's full blue mode. I would keep that in mind if you consider buying. It is great for plants, but I do wish it had brightness control. It wouldn't be that hard to add to that light either with its haptic switch. The switch works great by the way.
