Do we need special glue? I'm planning to purchase an additional one to make the two I have higher.** A: I only had 1 on each post. I had to glue caps on top. I used liquid nails Construction Adhesive. It has seemed to work well. If you are sliding over 6x6post you probably wont need to glue however. **Q: Is it possible to trim these down (from 41 inch height) to 25 inches, if needed?** A: Absolutely! Keep in mind, if you have a 4 by 4 post, you need the spacers purchased separately to make this work properly. The only thing I could say that is a downside is the fact that the faux rocks are more of a solid color than variegated as they appear in the picture. So, I used some exterior house paint and stain to change the color of a few of the stones to make mine look better, as you can see in the pics. It came out very nice.
