You can even break it apart for a deeper clean **Q: How long does this burner take to boil water in a coffee pot?** A: Tested and confirmed. 8 mins to boil one cup. A similar size coil on my home stove top does it in 5 mins. This device cycles on and off as a safety mechanism. I tried to bring a 2-3 gallons to above boiling (pressure cooker), and it didn’t get past 5psi after 45 mins. But it was able to hold at that 5psi, just barely. Food got cooked. **Q: Will this get plenty hot for frying bacon. Thinking about purchasing for my campers outdoor kitchen.** A: It gets hot quickly, to the point where the burner coils actually glow red-hot, when sert on "HIGH".
