Actually this is the second Acer projector I bought for my group, very satisfied with the performance. Cons: * No audio. * No buttons, the remote control slides in the projector housing to be used as the button station, so if you lose the remote you will suffer, so better keep the remote attached to the projector. * Only 1 year of warranty, all other Acer projectors have 2, not sure why, however for less than 40 you can add 1 year of warranty. * (Not a con, more like a suggestion) Seems like the auto keystone correction is too sensitive and may try to readjust the image every 5 minutes or so, that causes image flickering, so manual keystone adjustment is the way to go. We installed it with a ceiling mount and use it for Netflix and projecting photos, etc; it is not used for business/classroom applications. The projector has a lot of built in features that make it very easy to use, including automatic adjustments for the orientation of the projector (right side up vs upside down; keystoning) and a number of menu options that seem useful (economy mode; high altitude mode -- which is relevant in our case). The picture is bright and crisp. I cannot say how it compares to a 1080 projector as I have not seen them side by side. I have not found it easy to connect the projector, to provide video input and sound output systems. There are relatively few options for input -- HDMI is missing -- and none for sound output. This is not a deal breaker, but I have a lot of wires running from a ROKU box, a computer, and a DVD player to various input sockets on the Acer and to the sound system we use with it. Another negative feature of the projector is that in the room we have it installed, the fan noise is quite noticeable. It is a noisy projector, so we crank up the volume on the sound system. I give the Acer four stars because it has a lot of hardware and software in it at a very reasonable price. We are happy with it and I doubt that I would ever want to pay three times as much to get a first rate projector. After a couple weeks of use, I will add one more "con" to the list. To adjust the focus of the ceiling-mounted projector, I must climb up and adjust the lens by hand. If we had not mounted it on the ceiling, I would not have paid attention to this issue. But focus is a bother for me, with the unit mounted perhaps 7.5 feet up. I still give the projector four stars, though. ### ⭐⭐ Great projector until you get the FAN FAIL error *by H***N on February 25, 2014* We have been using this projector with relatively no issues for almost a year. This morning it started displaying a "FAN FAIL" error and will not work. We checked our warranty and have 15 days left on it thankfully but now we have to pay for shipping to send it back to Acer and wait who knows how long to wait for it's repair and return. A word of advice, purchase the warranty through Amazon if given that option.
