We opened up the package and we're overwhelmed with the smell of a woman's perfume. Don't know why or how it can bathed inside of the package with perfume, but unfortunately it did. We have bathed it in 91% isopropyl alcohol and after a week of this submerging, it's still reek's very bad! My wife can't even bear to put it on. Going to try to get with the company and see if we can do some type of a swap cause, we really do love this necklace it is beautiful! I have a very small frame and I want it to be a choker.** A: It's not adjustable. It's close to the neck, but it's not a choker. It's a fabulous necklace though. One of my favorites. **Q: Is this Nickel free?** A: All genuine Alchemy Gothic products are made of Fine English Pewter which is the finest grade of pewter, certified to be lead and nickel free compliant with the UK BS EN 611-1:1995 standard and California Prop 65 requirements. **Q: How long is this?** A: 19.5" (49cm), non-adjustable **Q: How do you clean and care for it?** A: Store in a felt bag.... Have only rubbed it clean with a Lint Free cloth or a Silver Cloth. Got this off of a wiki page.... Pewter does not tarnish like silver will, but pewter will develop a dark patina that can look dull and dingy over time. Unlike silver where your body chemistry can help keep pieces you wear often clean, frequent wearing of pewter will often make it dull faster. While this patina can add to the beauty and value of the piece, many people would prefer to clean it off and make your pewter jewelry look clean and bright. Do not use a stiff brush or abrasive pad as pewter is a soft metal and it can easily scratch pewter or damaged any crystal or enameling the piece may include.
