It is a tool to find out easily if there is suspicious transmission being emitted from a certain device and might give you a first and easy idea of the type or frequency of the radiation without the need of large and really expensive equipment. Most likely it will not give you all the information you need to specify the exact source, purpose or destination of the transmission. For a total detection you need additional tools. Credit cards work with magnetic strip and induction for NFC which can not be detected from a distance with this device. We use this tool for first sight to check if there is something suspicious. If so we get our spectrum analysers etc and check it in depth. I am in a lot of hotel rooms. I test this multiple times and it does in fact pick up frequencies that are associated with bugs. (see video for a live test) Just note in this world of technology you're going to have a lot of false positives as you're stumbling into wifi and microwaves.
