### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Extremely Pleased with TifBlair Centipede Seed
*by R***R on May 3, 2022*

I could not be more pleased with this grass seed. Today (May 3 2022) is day 8 after seeding on April 25. I have great germination as you can see in the pictures. The first picture is right after seeding on April 25. The two other pictures are today, May 3, 8 days after seeding. I’m restoring my front lawn after having a beautiful Saint Augustine lawn for over 25 years, and it was here since the house was built in ‘72, so it was pretty old. I’ve always enjoyed making my lawn look nice, and at one point it was the most beautiful grass on the street, but I never bagged the clippings and I let thatch build up and ended up getting a fungus that left big bare spots in the yard, and those quickly filled in with weeds. Before I could deal with it, I had lost most of my grass, and the entire yard was nothing but weeds. I treated with fungicide and sprayed for insects, put down a layer of compost over the entire yard, and started clearing the worst bare patches with Round-Up. I waited a month after Round-Up, cleared out any dead vegetation in this one spot, and re-seeded with TifBlair Centipede. I wanted to just do this one spot before I spent the money for more seed.TifBlair is expensive but worth it in my opinion. The one mistake I made was putting too much seed into this one spot, which is about 5’x15’. I bought a hand held spreader, put the whole pound of seed in it, which didn’t appear to be that much seed since the seeds are tiny, but coated with something. I didn’t have my spreader set right, and before I knew it, all the seed was gone. I carefully raked it into the soil trying to keep from going too deep, but trying to make sure it was all covered. I watered it in good, and watered 2-4 times a day unless we had rain. I wasn’t expecting germination so quickly, but it actually started peeking through on day 7 or at least that’s when I could see it. I’ve continued to water at least twice a day. I’m hoping that I didn’t mess it up too badly by over-seeding. Be very careful on your spreader setting because these tiny seeds come out very fast even on the lowest setting.I was so pleased with TifBlair, I ordered the 5 pound bag, but intend to be a lot more careful with my spreader setting.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Like the grass. Winter will tell...
*by S***X on November 24, 2012*

Planted a small amount of this seed in August in Chattanooga. August is too late for this type seed, but I wanted to test the germination and growth rate. Follow the seeding instructions. It does not germinate like fescue. You have to cover it by a 1/4 inch of dirt. Germination percentage was high where I covered it and kept it wet. Poor where I didn't cover it and non-existent where I didn't water it. (But, I expected that.) The instructions are clear. Follow them and you will have great results. There is a periodic growth chart on the side of the bag and my Tifblair grass exceeded the expected performance on the chart. Very happy with the appearance and rate of migration/growth. As of late November, its still green and most neighboring yards with bermuda have already turned brown. So, it holds it color longer, as advertised. The real test will be if it survives winter in this Tennessee transition zone. If it returns healthy in March, I'll replace my entire yard (1.25 acres) with this grass. So far, it passed every test and expectation I have with it.***UPDATE*** July 2013Its been 11 months since I planted the seed. It came up and grew a little last Fall.Went dormant around Thanksgiving. Turned greyish/brown. In Spring, it came back. This was great news as my decision for buying Tifblair is based on its ability to live through winter.Right now, in July, its growing stolons and branching out.I've decided to plant the remainder of the seed I have.It grows slow. The color is lighter than fescue. Its a brighter green. Not as deep greed as fescue. What I like most about the grass is the entire blade is green. No die off or thatch like fescue.Part of my fescue yard is experiencing some type of disease. (brown patch or something.) It happens every June to my fescue yard. Tired of dumping chemicals on this fescue to try to make it look nice. Also, I see some negative reviews. They seem to be based on germination rate. I agree, it doesn't germinate at high percentages. You have to keep it wet and it needs to be slightly covered with dirt. 1/8th to 1/4 inch of dirt. Too much and it will not germinate; too little and it will dry out. Must keep water on it for 8 to 12 days. I set my sprinklers for 6 minutes twice a day and it germinated fine. You can't just toss this seed down like fescue and expect it to germinate. So far, I think its a nice grass. I'll post back next Spring with another update.

### ⭐ Misleading marketing and Poor Coverage
*by M***E on June 16, 2025*

Very disappointed with the manufacturer’s claim of coverage. According to their claim that one bag covers 4,000 sq ft, we purchased two bags for a 5,000 sq ft area. Not only did the two bags prove insufficient, but so did the additional 6 bags we purchased. (8 in total)!!! Not only were the seeds expensive, but their claim is false and extremely misleading! Even in areas where we seeded as they recommended, germination is very scarce and inconsistent. I would not recommend and would actually request a partial refund for a product that really didn’t deliver as promised.Disappointed customer ☹️
