If you're struggling to get a good reception in your home, or you moved in and miss your favorite local radio stations, CC WiFi 3 is the solution! With CC WiFi 3 you can listen to your favorite radio shows and thousands of people around the world with clear reception. With the wide selection of over 25,000 stations in the new CC WiFi 3 you can be sure that you'll discover radio shows you love. There are thousands of free rock, jazz, news and interviews to choose from. All you need is a WiFi internet connection. The CC Wifi 3 has a fast command response thanks to the fast processor. It comes with a 5-volt AC adapter and an included power cord that can be plugged into a USB port for power. The WiFi reception range is the best we have tested due to the included 5dBi external antenna (required to prevent WiFi drops). Audio is ideal for a full voice with clarity. If you want superior audio for music, the DC WiFi 3 has a line output that can be used for remarkable results with an amplified speaker system. WiFi 3 DC line only works with amplified speakers. The radio has an adjustable equalizer (line out and headphone) for advanced users focused on 105, 300, 850, 2400 and 6800 Hz, plus an adjustable 3D adjustment for depth. The settings can be adjusted to your ear. The audio from the output line is equal to or better than any other WiFi radio we have tested. It's a luxury to have an excellent audio source separate from your cell phone… low cost, far less expensive than a year of satellite radio and no monthly fee. The display shifts the title and group of the song if this information is provided by the stream. Visualization is not capable of displaying advertisement... and no one tracks who you are. If you use the radio somewhere besides your home, such as an office, RV park, or hotel, there are some important things you should know: 1. Network must be transmitted, hidden networks are not supported. 2. If your network requires MAC filtering and does not allow unidentified external devices, this radio will not work in that environment. 3. Your WiFi must support 2.4GHz, 5GHz alone will not work. 4. If your network requires browser authentication (a popup that requires you to log in and enter your name, room, or space number: or a page that requires you to agree to the terms and agreement), that's not supported. 5. If the network requires static IPs or specific IP ranges, there are specific instructions in our instruction manual on how to change the IP address and/or range.

Review: Excellent radio so far, with some room for improvement - I've wanted to purchase an internet radio for quite some time. After doing a lot of research, I opted to buy this terrific radio. So far, it hasn't disappointed me. Although this was my first internet radio, setup was extremely easy, and I was up and running in minutes. Skytune has plenty of stations, and I had no problems going from station to station. The radio was very responsive, and the sound is the best I've heard from a radio this size with a single speaker, which is excellent. It really is a lot of fun playing with this radio just to hear what people in other countries are listening to! I also tried the Bluetooth feature with iHeartRadio, TuneIn Radio, and Radio Garden; it worked perfectly with TuneIn Radio and Radio Garden, but iHeartRadio inexplicably didn't stream over everything. Not really a big deal, and I suspect it had something to do with the iHeartRadio app not playing nice with the radio. Setting up Skytune presets in the radio is very easy, but I was more interested in setting up presets that were not dependent on having Skytune service. After all, it doesn’t hurt to be prepared should the service suddenly not be available! Well, that proved to be quite challenging, because the radio stream url information for most radio stations is very difficult, if not impossible, to find. Nevertheless, I kept at it, and eventually was able to successfully locate this information for many stations and add several preset stations. Patience and persistence are the keys, and you’ll be able to easily do the same thing with no difficulty for a lot of radio stations. Are there areas for improvement? In a word, yes. For example, the radio does not come with a built-in rechargeable battery, nor can you add batteries to the radio. Not a big deal, but if you want the radio to be a truly portable radio you’ll have to get a power bank. If you don’t have one already, a good one will set you back about $20.00. Additionally, having another aggregator service besides Skytune, and/or having iHeartRadio, Spotify, Pandora, etc., available in the radio itself, would also be nice. Don’t get me wrong, Skytune seems to provide an excellent service. But if Skytune shuts down, most of the functionality of the radio for the majority of users goes away, leaving you with a pretty black box. The remote control is functional, but the buttons feel a bit “mushy”, and overall is not up to the same build quality as the radio itself. Finally, it would be great if the radio incorporated an “old school” radio to listen to local AM and FM radio without the need for WiFi connectivity. Not only would this give users an additional option if Skytune was unavailable, but it would also be useful during emergencies when power was unavailable. So, even though I have a “wish list” of improvements for the radio, at the end of the day it is a great radio. It works flawlessly, my list of improvements are relatively minor, and I can get nearly all of my suggested improvements from other radios and equipment I’ve purchased over the years. Maybe the next generation of the radio (WiFi4?) will have some of these additions, but as it stands this is a great radio that’s easy to use and will put a smile on your face.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: if you briefly lose internet connection, does to unit power itself back on?**
A: There seems to be two questions here, one about briefly losing an internet connection and another about losing power. What I've noticed is that if there is a glitch with the internet connection, it will recover automatically as long as the streaming station is still up and running. On the other question, I have simulated a brief loss of power by quickly pulling out the power cord and plugging it back in. In this case, the radio reboots and sits there in the standby state waiting for someone to hit the "power button" and then it will reconnect to the station that was playing when the power was lost.

**Q: The original "cc wifi" could not intelligently choose between wifi mesh extender units with the same name/ssid.  has this been fixed?**
A: Yes, it has. Our new CC WiFi 3 Internet Radio will show all networks in range and next to the network name it will show signal strength bars on the display.

**Q: Can you connect the unit to the internet via ethernet, or only wifi?**
A: The unit is designed for WiFi connection. There is no ethernet connector plug on the unit - so I don't think you can connect by ethernet. It works great using WiFi.

**Q: Can i listen short wave radio ?**
A: No, not possible; only stations that play over the Internet.

This is a very well thought out radio. Stable behavior. no quirks so far.. I like the feature that can be enabled that if there is a power outage, it comes back on to the same station and doesnt have to be reconfigured again when the power is restored. Set it and forget it. It is always tuned to my station and ready to play. Its been on for days now and has not dropped out..
