It didn't do much to the blanket weed but it certainly cleared the water and I can see the bottom of the pond which is about 3'6" deep. Since then I have dropped in 4 sachets now and then but I am using Green Go for the blanket weed. All is working well so I suggest you just follow the instructions. **Q: do you have to turn off the uv light when using this or leave it on** A: The uv light was on all the time **Q: Is the pond life save when using this** A: Yes all pond life, fish, plants,frogs,dragonfly s etc are very safe **Q: My pond only holds 25 gallons so how much should I use** A: Not a lot. A calculation would give about 1/40 of a sachetbut if it were me I'd probably drop in 1/2 of a sachet.
