The black rounded edges and corners are definitely plastic. It is in fact a tad better laminate than I have seen on MDF. In general, it looks better than the '50's plastic model radios; but it definitely isn't an expensive wooden gem. I'm ok with it, for my retro den. However, it's the absolute aesthetic I was looking for, and more!It connects promptly. It's reliable on batteries or when pluggen in. It's sturdy(hard plastic). But looks like oak. Good looking radio/Bluetooth speaker. The knobs are tight and attractive. The grill is actually fabric. The buttons work. The radio works, even analog. The antenna is tight. We haven't used the SD slots yet, so I can't comment on that aspect.In conclusion, it's not a toy. It has weight to it, and rubber feet to keep it planted. It took a couple of weeks to arrive, but was factory well-packed and arrived in mint condition.
