I'm thinking this is my go to challenge survival kit. The bottle cup and stand are stainless steel. I love the knife spoon and fork spork combination The pouch leaves just enough room for me to add a few things. I added another tin with char wood, a mylar sleeping bag, iodine drops, a stainless steel knife, a black tarp (garbage bag) and a clear tarp (clear drop cloth), and some zip lock bags that get rolled around the bottle. A roll of electric tape for first aid and other uses and around 50 feet of cordage that are the only things tied to the outside. A small harmonica case filled with fishing gear, tiny flashlight, safety pins, etc. A harmonica for entertainment. Inside the bottle I have a bag of split peas and iodine for first aid and to sterilize water. Another bag of lentils and the pouch "grocery" bag fit above the bottle. If I need to sterilize water, I can add some lentils or split pea so I'm also cooking a little meal. The only thing not pictured is I have also carried a small plastic Gatoraid bottle with a shoulder strap for an additional source of water. This is part of my camping and hiking gear. It's very light, easy to carry, and frankly, I could survive indefinitely in the wilderness. I love the steel and flint fire starter. I mostly use my added char wood Altoids tin, but If I have to use the fire starter, I just tear off a tiny piece, that's all you need, so it will last a long time. Love this kit. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My Hiking Setup *by A***R on September 11, 2021* This is perfect for my hiking setup. I live in california and there is no safe water. I REALLY like the extra space inside the bag where I can stash extra things. I wrapped extra cotton bandana's around the base of the stove portion to keep it in place. The front pouch got compass, lighter, sparker, frensel fire starter lens, fork, spoon, small knife. Inside the base of the campstove I have a coil of bank line. This raises up the water bottle a bit, but that's ok with the extra space. Then I have my camp knife and Tarp attached to the MOLLE straps on the outside. Extra cotton bandana's are folded in the shoulder pad giving a bit of extra protection. Now when I go hiking I just toss in some meal bars or trailmix or whatever. I kept this nice and light weight because I normally carry a rather heavy camera to do animal and wilderness photography. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent kit, if a little pricey. *by T***M on October 2, 2018* This seems like a decent kit. I would recommend it, even though it's a bit pricey. You do get quite a bit for your money.The bottle, as in the picture, does not stand as tall as the pouch, which looks like it would easily hold a 40 oz bottle and still have room for the stove and lid which sit on top of the bottle.The part of the lid that contacts the water appears to be stainless steel as well, so your water should not contact the plastic lid - a really good touch that I wash was mentioned in the description.
