It restored the charging capability, where the old jack had been powering the computer but would not charge the battery. There are at least two different cable lengths, with the ferrite bead in different places, listed for the XPS13. Without opening the machine, I didn't know which to order and took a chance on this one. It was too long, but the pinouts and jack were the same. It worked, but the cable couldn't be routed the same way. I ordered a different one, that was the right length, but it was dead on arrival. Rather than send this one, and the non-working other model back, I decided to modify this jack cable, tuck the wires in, and MAKE IT WORK. I had to cut back some of the outer insulation sheath and carefully work the ferrite bead back away from the jack, until it could be stashed in a place where there was room. Success!
