Edited Review-outstanding customer service
I've been binging on Peshtemal towels lately, and I've ordered 6 in the last month from all different brands, so I have plenty to compare with. The blue striped towel I bought is BY FAR the thinnest fabric of them all. It is THINNER than a linen T-shirt, which is see through (this is also see through holding it up to any light). The color in the photo is much richer than the actual towel, which while accurate in shades, are not as vibrant. This could be related to the thinness. The bag is cute, so I'm giving it 3 stars because my other towels did not come with a bag, so that's a value added. The thinness may be an advantage if you want the smallest possible peshtemal-sized bath sheet to travel with. Obviously, the thicker the material, the larger the space needed in your luggage. It would make a good scarf/shawl/light wrap/coverup as well, so some people may be really pleased with it. While I definitely see advantages for some people needing to travel light and wanting the thinnest possible large towel sheet or super lightweight beach 'blanket', it's not really capable of absorbing enough water to be used as an after shower towel for most people.Edited Review:After I complained about the blue striped towel, the Seller reached out to me and explained that of the series of towels they sell, the blue stripe is the thinnest of them all. They would be happy to swap me for a thicker towel, which happens to be all the rest of their listed towels. I originally wanted the Fish towel, which was sold out by the time I placed my order, so I chose the blue striped because I loved how it was horizontal stripes instead of the 'usual' vertical stripe direction. The towel, as noted in my original review, is thin (not necessarily a drawback, depending on your intended use). The seller pointed out that hand weaving the horizontal stripes in the blue striped towel is much harder than vertical stripes, so they make them thinner to save on the looming back and forth.I opted for the out of stock fish towel, so it took a while to receive and update. The fish towel is magnificent! It exactly met, if not exceeded, my expectations. If the blue stripe was hard to weave, I don't know how they did this fish pattern! The darker outlines of the fishes are slightly raised above the rest of the fabric, a subtle 3D effect. Beautiful! The fabric is at least double, or more, the thickness of their blue stripped towel. The fish towel I received from their new batch is larger than shown on the listing. Beautiful out of the box, I threw it in the washer (cold) and low heat dryer, to shrink before measuring. It is now 68" long by tape, out of the dryer, but as measured against my now large stack of peshtemals from other vendors, the same size as other 70" towels I bought. That's the towel part, not counting the fringe. The fringe on this is much shorter, it's roughly 1" long on each side. The photos of the other towels that are shown here have a longer fringe, apparently the fish towel has not been listed as back in stock as of this review update. The new fish towel has a thin white border below the end of the fish pattern, which lengthens the towel itself. There are no tassels on the edges, just 1" of fringe. I prefer this look a bit better than the traditional tassels, and makes it much easier to use as a contemporary scarf/shawl/airplane blanket. The fringes held up to regular agitation in the washing machine, and low heat extra long tumbling in the dryer, no signs of unraveling or damage of any kind. Should be durable, despite the lack of knots or tassels. There are no funky odors, either new or after washing. After washing (I only use vinegar, no detergent), it smells like cotton... exactly as it should. What I like the very best is that after washing, the fabric puckered slightly, like cotton gauze clothing but much thicker. Think THICK cotton gauze. For lack of a better word, it looks and feels... fluffy. Just a beautiful wonderful texture, and I think it will absorb water very well as a peshtemal towel, and still dry very fast. The bag has also changed. The bag this came with has 2 tabs at the bottom, with a drawstring at the top, and the cord wrapped around the tabs, so that when you pull on the string, it creates a 'sling' out of the 2 sides of cord, no loose dangly cords. What a cool little freebie bag! The fabric is rough cotton, like a light muslin. I love the bag as much as the towel, it's adorable. I did a funny thing. When I threw the towel in the washing machine, I also accidentally threw the bag in.... and attached to the bag was a small booklet from the maker about their product. Most people, including me, just toss this when unwrapping after reading it. I didn't notice it at first, so in the washer it went. I forgot to close the top of my washing machine, which meant that it did not spin for about an hour or 2, so a much longer extra soak in the vinegar. Guess what? The little booklet survived the machine wash, which took hours longer than it should have. Their booklet is printed on either cotton or hemp paper....that amazed me as well, it was still readable (but faded)! To put that detail/effort printing a booklet that could survive in 4 hours of vinegar agitating and soaking... effort and expense into even the part people throw away without a thought. The bag left some loose threads from the strong washing machine agitation, which I cut off with no harm done to the bag integrity. But the booklet part blew me away. The towel and bag combo is so well done all around! Finally the customer service. Wow. I listed all my complaints to the seller, and they really went an extra mile to ensure my satisfaction. I wasn't upset about the first towel, but it was not what I wanted. They went over and above to get me what I wanted, a fish towel that they sold out of, and is still not yet back on Amazon (I'm going to assume that it will be). And in a better version than listed in the description. Believe me, you want the fish towel if you love Peshtemal towels, and it comes back in stock!Out of all my peshtemal towels, this fish towel is now my favorite. It's odd to call a TOWEL beautiful, but this is just beautiful. If you love fabrics for their own sake, which I do, this has it all. From the texture, the touch feel, softness, a gorgeous pattern, craftsmanship, to extra attention to detail in the bonus bag no one else gives you.You could make a skirt or shirt out of this fabric and be proud to wear it anywhere. I'm sitting here wrapped in my fish towel as a shawl, grinning like an idiot, because it makes me happy. THAT's why I buy stuff, some of which I don't need, because they make me happy. Well, I'm happy:). Thank you Mebien, I hope you sell lots of these, but I think the fortunate ones will be your customers.

Gorgeous
Got this to use as a towel, beach blanket, summer throw blanket. It is stylish and the colors are nicely neutral. It’s soft and light like a muslin baby blanket but is thick enough to be durable over the long run. Did not shrink in the wash.

Too thin to use as travel blanket
I love the design, the color, but honestly to thin to be travel blanket, won't be warm enough at all, but I'll use it for other purposes.

Soft and cozy
This is honestly just great all around. Bought one for me and my partner. They are soft and cozy, great for larger bodies. The patters and color selections are just so stinking cute too!

Great throw for couch
Use this as a lap blanket when curled up on the couch. It’s light and just right for laps and toes.

Small and very lightweight
I have ordered 5 different brands of Turkish Cotton towels. The first one I ordered was my first experience with these types of towels; it was a very loose weave and lightweight. I needed to know if all Turkish towels were like that, so I decided to research. Any research online just leads to various brands trying to sell to you, even the “5 best turkish towels of 2024” articles. I read all the reviews, starting with the negative ones. I looked at all the pictures. I decided to try 4 other brands. This Mebien brand towel was the most unique and completely different from the others. It costs about $23, the most expensive one I bought, yet it was the lightest one coming in at 10.6oz/298g. It was also the smallest. Stretched, it reaches the advertised size of 35”x67”. I respect them for that, as none of the other towels measured exactly the advertised size. This towel has a more gauzey texture. That is very different from any of the other Turkish towels I ordered. It feels very soft. The weave is tight enough. I like the unique geometric design with the reverse color scheme on the back side. I was not impressed by the skimpy untied fringes, but if somebody doesn’t want a lot of fringe, they might like that better.Overall, it was too light and too small for the price in my opinion, so I didn’t try washing it nor tested it for absorbency, and I will return it.

Just as expected. Love it.
This is just what I was looking for. A soft compact towel that dries quick, it soft and can be used as a towel or a blanket. Beautiful design. Would recommend.

Beautiful but
This is the look I was wanting, beware they are not 'thick and plush' towels but look good on the hooks and are good for drying off hands

Nice tablecloth/blanket/shawl - but IT IS CERTAINLY NOT A TOWEL
I recently purchased 10 Turkish towels (from Amazon and others) and this one didn't pass the test.As with the other towels, I soaked them all overnight in cold water, washed with white vinegar added to wash cycle and dried on ultra low heat setting. I washed each towel 4 times before use. This is not a towel. It pushes the water around much like a polyester tablecloth would. In other words, it is NOT ABSORBENT AT ALL - and only somewhat soft.I was hesitant to order it as it looked like a different weave than the others and, as it turns out, doesn't perform as a towel should. And it has a loose fringe where every other Turkish towel has a hand-tied fringe along with instruction in how to re-tie them should they become untied.I will likely use it as a lap/blanket, shawl/scarf, tablecloth, throw blanket.I did some research on Turkish towels before ordering and this just slipped through the cracks. (because I liked this design).I have found that in order to be an authentic Turkish towel it should be:- 100 % Turkish Cotton- Hand tied fringe- Made in Turkey- Normally woven in a herringbone or diamond weave (see photo - this one on left vs authentic towel on right)Although this is a nice piece of fabric, is it not a Turkish towel.FYI - Every one of the other towels are very absorbent and very soft. They are beautiful and both myself and my spouse love them.See Demmex on Amazon.2 of them will travel with us when the world opens up again after covid. This will be nice as a blanket or tablecloth or shawl or tapestry, but not suitable if you're looking for a towel.
