It’s sturdy and my dog easily adjusted to it. The cord is elastic and helps to make any movements from the dog more forgiving. I have a 70 lb lab mix. One draw back from the similar but more expensive one available is you have to unscrew the rod from the clamp to remove it where as the other has a quick release. Its kept outside through some rough weather and still shows no signs of weakening so I'm not sure why others say the cord broke. Arrived on time and as advertised. No product can make up for rider ability or your dogs temperament. The product does its job. You have to decide if the product is right for you. My dog did get excited and take off after a cat once. I was able to get my feet down and stop. No big deal. But for a nervous dog or owner it may not be a good fit. The product claims you only need the provided allen wrench to install, but you will also need some tool to hold the nut in place while you tighten the bolt. Even with doing so, I couldn't not get it tight enough to be stationary. With a little bit of force - even that from my 12 lb 5 month old Mini Aussie, the bar was rotated back towards the wheel. Fortunately the dog was not hurt and it wasn't serious problem, more just an annoyance.
