Then I found this tent. It is exactly what I wanted, and more!Quality: 4.5/5In all honesty I have yet to use the tent in serious rain, but from the looks of the seems, I’m not worried about that at all. Both the tent itself and the rainfly are great quality. The zippers and buckles all zip and buckle seamlessly. The poles are sturdy, and because the design doesn’t put a lot of tension on them, I have zero concern that they’ll break. The reason I lowered the score slightly in this area is because the pegs are pretty standard metal hook pegs. I will be swapping these out for some aluminum pegs in the future. The last time I used it they started bending when I was hammering them in, albeit I was hammering them into frozen ground, which isn’t your typical situation. This is typical of these types of pegs on any tent I’ve used though, and really isn’t the end of the world, they are still completely usable.Design: 5/5As I mentioned above, the tent poles do not do much of the heavy lifting, the tension of the tent floor is what mostly keeps the tent up. This also means that, despite my video, this is NOT a winter tent, but it is a great 3 season tent as long as it doesn’t have to carry snow. I am so happy it has two entrances! Even though it’s just a one man tent, having two vestibules and exit options is great! The bonus groundsheet is stitched to the tent itself and is great for keeping shoes or your pack on. And if it’s night and you need to go you can use the other door and not disturb your gear. I also love the vent! Speaking of ventilation, there is a ton of mesh for great ventilation inside!Usability: 5/5This tent is so easy to set up I can do it by myself in about 5-7 mins. It is INCREDIBLY spacious which is great for changing, and even storing your gear in. I could easily see someone who is 6’4” fitting in this tent fine. I could even put my pack at my feet (but it's a bit tight then). Plus it is so nice to still be able to sit up straight in your tent. There are three mesh pockets. One thing to note however is that it is not treated with UV treatment or fire-retardant. The compression straps and handle to carry the tent are great too. Plus it all weighs UNDER 4lbs!Summary: 5/5I love this tent! I can’t wait to get out and camp in it more! I even have considered making my buddy sleep in the 3-man by himself just so I can have this one to myself! Tent came in a nice sack and tent was bundled with a Velcro compression strap (ditched the bag and folded tent in half and used strap to pack it down to a 9×9×4 square). Set it up on the front lawn on a wet/ muddy 38°f day. It took me 10 minutes to set up and adjust and I'm sure will take me half that second time around. **upgraded stakes** red aluminum "v" stakes now come with this tent. Aluminum tent poles are of good quality (not the cheap gold ones) although I'm still very gentle as I've never really trusted aluminum. This tent has the seams taped like crazy...like CRAZY*thumbs up*!! Also after set up i could feel the applied waterproofing on my hands. That being said I ALWAYS add my own waterproofing to any gear I get. As is though, I did not have any moisture or water come through the tent floor after set up on the saturated muddy ground. The fly clips on nicely and does leave a slight gap between the ground for ventilation and is far enough away to prevent rain from getting in. The duel entrance is nice. I can start my coffee on the vestibule side and pop out the other side. That being said the vestibule is very small and won't accommodate a 65l pack :(. The floormat is actually functional as I can stand up in sock feet and slip my shoes on and remain dry. It always beats hanging out of your tent to put shoes on then try to get up lol. I'm 5'9" 130lbs for reference and the inside has plenty of room (maybe enough for my 65l pack). Inspected all the stitching and didn't find any faults in the seams, joints or zippers. This tent is almost the exact tent at the Alps Mystique 1.0 both in footprint and material and is about $30 less. I imagine the footprint for the Alps Mystique 1.0 would fit this tent ($26) or cut a piece of tyvek to size. All in all this is a great tent at a excellent price. Can't wait to hit the trails with this little guy! ### ⭐⭐ Spend a little more money on a better tent *by S***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2018* Don't buy this tent if you plan on doing anything more than a weekend trip at a local park. I just finished a thru-hike of the John Muir Trail, and this was by far the most stressful piece of equipment I had with me. First and foremost, it had the cheapest stakes I've ever dealt with. If I wasn't setting it up on anything other than soft dirt then I was guaranteed to break a couple stakes. I had to borrow 4 of my friends by the end of the trip. The tent IS NOT free-standing. Unless you have the two stakes in at both the head and bottom of the tent then the tent will not stand. Which was a pain when the stakes couldn't go into any tough terrain without breaking. I had to use at least 10 rocks to keep my tent up at times. Condensation flaps practically did nothing for me either, I woke up wet practically every morning. I am giving it two stars because it did "hold up", and the space was nice inside. But, the stress the stakes brought for 21 nights with it were not worth any of that. Buy the Alps Mountaineering Lynx if you want a cheap backpacking tent, or spend a little more on a good one.
