Review: Great product - I'll start by saying I'm just a casual user, not an avid rider or anything like that. This unit does exactly what I wanted it to do. No issues at all except that the instructions were a little spartan, but it's pretty easy to figure out anyway. I use it to ride a half an hour a day with varying resistance settings inside in the A/C rather than out in the FL heat and humidity. It works great for that, though I'm still putting forth enough effort to work up a sweat. The noise issue... When my MTB is on it, it does make a pretty good whine from the knobby tires on the roller. It isn't too bad, but when going at maximum speeds with maximum effort it can reach vacuum cleaner noise levels complete with the high pitched whine. I knew this from other reviews so it didn't bother me. I was actually pleased to find that it only got that loud when under full-speed conditions which are fairly short. Now, when we put my mom's cruiser on it, with wide, but smooth street tires, it gets virtually silent. It only produces a low hum that isn't even as loud as a fan on the high speed setting. You can easily watch TV or hold a normal conversation over it. Conclusion, it's your bike making the noise, not the stand. I really found the handlebar resistance adjustment to be handy. Mom's cruiser is only a single speed so she can still adjust the amount of effort she wants to use without being able to change gears to do so. It also is nice for my MTB even though I can and do change gears to vary the resistance a little more. It's a sturdy unit. I'm about 190 lbs and Mom is near there as well. We've both found our bikes to be stable when on the stand, though the extra height it gives the bike does make it a little more difficult for my short, senior-citizen Mom to get on her bike. We will probably be buying a second unit so we don't have to swap out bikes every time we want to use the thing. (Mom isn't very mechanically inclined or physically strong so it's not something she can easily do.)
Review: Wonderful product. Even with an internal gear hub preventing me from using it right, it works like a charm. - So, I was super concerned when I first set this up. I, being super smart, didn't consider that my bike having a rear internal-gear hub on the back tire would interfere with the Trainer's ability to connect to my bike. I assumed it would be totally useless, or I would have to swap out for a normal back tire and forget having gears for a while, but I decided to give it a shot anyway since I had it out of the box and half assembled. Amazingly enough, it worked perfectly. I've been able to stably connect my bike for 30-60 minute rides on four occasions now without the slightest wiggle, and that's with it simply clamped over-top of the gear-hub on one side. I have not felt my bike budge even a millimeter while I've been on it, and it makes perfect contact with both my back tire and the ground. There is no unwanted rubbing anywhere. The inclusion of the handle-mounted resistance switch is awesome, and overall the product is much more quiet than some reviews lead me to believe. The gentleman who posted a video of the sound is a good example, at most it will sound like a small desk fan; it's nothing that's going to be disturbing anyone with normal-range hearing abilities. Now, I've read all the negative reviews talking about uneven legs, poor welding, and weak connection to the bike. I honestly think they're either using the Trainer wrong, put it together wrong, have a bike that doesn't fit right, or got defective shipments. Even with my bike improperly secured into the thing, it's steady as a rock. I can't imagine it being any less secure if it was actually clamped in properly on both sides of the back tire, instead of just one. If someone is having an issue with the plastic rings that slide onto the clamps to secure them, I'm not sure how or why - they work fine with my bike put in the wrong way, so again.... I see no reason they wouldn't work fine when properly used. Mine had not slid undone, or moved at all that I've noticed. In fact they're a bit tight to get off if I put them on too far. The different resistance settings are nice, at first I did not think there was a very large difference, but the more I have used them the more I have recognized it. Being magnetic, it is a subtle difference, but it's there. All in all, I couldn't be more pleased with this product. I've found I actually get more of a workout on this than I do actually biking around outside, and I don't have to focus on other people, road laws, and cars. A+, highly recommend. Notice: Neither I nor (presumably) the manufacturer/seller recommend using this product in any way other than those specifically outlined in the instructions and user's guide. While I am not attaching my bike properly as-per those directions, and have not had any issues with that so far, this review should not be taken as a suggestion that anyone else do the same. I might fall and crack my head open some day, so I'll update my review in a couple of weeks when I've had more time to put it to the test.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: how easy is it to assemble the trainer?**
A: There are 4 screws that screw permanently into the plastic of the, I don't know what it's called, the spinney wheel thing. That was it, it was assembled otherwise.Wrangling your bike into the big giant screws that hold it in place is easy once you've done it before.

**Q: how do i get a quick release tire to sit securely in the coupling?**
A: You may have to replace the skewer, I bought one for $10 at local bike shop as the one that came on the bike was too large to fit into quick release. When replacing lock the rear brakes on the bike and remove/insert the skewer, then the chain will not move.

**Q: Does it come with a QR skewer? I have a diamonback podium 2 road bike.. any one with a similar bike?**
A: No, it doesnt, and mine didnt come with the plastic end caps either. I have absolutely no good way to mount my bike to this trainer

**Q: Will this trainer accommodate my mountain bike tires?**
A: Nope. Didn't fit my bike. (700c x 35) I'll have to give it away.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Trainer
*by R***N on February 27, 2013*

I purchased this trainer over the winter to help me stay in shape at a pretty reasonable cost. This unit is really pretty great. It works well and is much cheaper than some of the more expensive trainers on Amazon. The five resistance levels do not provide much resistance, but when used inconjunction with the various gears on the bikes it is possible to get a tough workout in a short amount of time. I will agree with some of the reviews; the unit can be loud, but switching to a slick tire or adjusting the resistance can reduce the noise. It usually just listen to a podcast or two while I train and have no problems with the noise. If you live with someone or are in a situation where noise could be an issue I would strong reccommend a slick tire. I have two issues with the trainer. The first issue is the assembly instructions. The instructions were not easy to follow. The photos were no help, and the actual instructions were tough to follow. Luckily there are very few parts, and after about a half hour and some messing around I got it figured out. My other issue is with the stability of the trainer. My bike has fallen off the trainer twice(I am 6ft tall and about 190lbs so it is not a weight issue). Twice is not too bad given how many times I have used the trainer, but I would suggest checking that the bike is very securely mounted every time you use it. Overall this is a quality trainer, well worth the price and a very good way to stay in cycling shape when you can not get outside.
